Cardnit (2.6mg) 30 Tablets

An organic nitrate that acts as a vasodilator and causes relaxation of vascular smooth muscles. It produces a dose-related dilation of both arterial and venous beds.

Nitrates

It is used for:

• angina pectoris
• hypertension during surgeries
• coronary artery disease
• chronic anal fissures

To be used as per doctor's prescription

Hypotension, venous pooling, increased vasodilation and decreased cardiac output are overdose symptoms which can be life-threatening. Emesis or gastric lavage followed by treatment with activated charcoal will be required. Seek immediate medical attention

Do not double doses if you have forgetten about a missed dose or not. Take the next one at its schedule time or consult a doctor

Swallow with a glass of water with or without food.

Contra-indicated in patients with:

• history of hypersensitivity to the constituents
• recent head or brain injuries
• stroke
• heart problems other than angina
• heart failure

Side effects include:

• headaches
• feeling dizzy
• nausea
• red face
• increased heart rate and lightheadedness

Should be used with caution in people with myocardial infarction and left ventricular failure

Drug interactions may be found with medications for:

• erectile dysfunction
• pulmonary hypertension
• migraine headaches
