Major Drop in COVID-19 Death Count in Pakistan

According to data from NCOC, Pakistan witnessed a significant drop in the daily death count after a continuous 10 day peak. With 29 more registered deaths, the total death count of the country now stands at 29,801.

The positivity rate of the country also saw a slight decline as it has dropped to 5.62%. There has also been a detection of 2,662 new infections after the administration of 47,307 diagnostic tests during the span of 24 hours.

The country’s statistics are also improving as the overall cases have now reached 1,486,361. The active cases accounts for 76,639 as the 4,293 corona patients have successfully recovered.

 

The PM of Pakistan, Imran Khan was also briefed about the country’s ongoing condition. Imran Khan was presented with details about the various coronavirus measures  that have been taken by the government in these regards. Furthermore, the global spread of omicron and related data was also shared with the PM.

The meeting minutes also included that out of 150 million people over 12 years of age, 90 million are now vaccinated. The authorities are also hoping that this number will reach 72% by March,2022.

The PM office also shared that 115 million people have recieved single dose of vaccination and this number will also increase by March,2022.
