The US reported the most cases on a seven-day average piquing the numbers to 265,427.  as the New Years celebrations have caught sight once again. The restrictions are seeping n and governments are being urged to pull threads on people. The highly transmissible variant which we know so little about is profusely propelling toward the United States, Britain, Denmark and France. The cases have peaked up like never before. In the latest turn of sudden events WHO released a few statements. "I am highly concerned that Omicron, being more transmissible, circulating at the same time as Delta, is leading to a tsunami of cases," said WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

"This is and will continue to put immense pressure on exhausted health workers, and health systems on the brink of collapse."

The variant is already overwhelming the masses and the worst of them all could be seen in the United states. According to the epidemiologists from Harvard and John Hopkins, the variant numbers are just the ‘tip of the iceberg’ with more damage yet to come. It is also believed that the true number might be unknown due to the shortage of tests.

Though the speculation is increasing there are hopes within the healthcare sector that the Omnicron Virus may not be as severe as its former variants have been. "We should not become complacent," top US infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci said Wednesday, as "all indications point to a lesser severity of Omicron".

The records are increasing while the research on this new variant remains unknown. Given how widely this variant is spreading it is best for citizens to maintain their social distancing before we face a world pause again.
